I start with topic for my website, then build my website and start writing content for it. Because I don’t sell my own products, I already know that I’ll be able to sell products from other people without an issue. What I do is called “affiliate marketing”. Some people do like to research potential products to sell beforehand, but for myself, I’m mostly concerned with finding a topic I think is interesting, with maybe some traffic numbers research, and monetization comes afterward!

But I’d still recommend you build your own site and own platform, its just better in the long run. The way you do it is you create a free post (like this one) with free downloads inside then drive traffic to it. Everyone is happy to link to free info then you can retarget people without too much trouble.
The way to make big money as an affiliate is to launch jack (more profitable since you don’t necessarily have to pay for cold-traffic). You can use Google Adwords, Facebook ads, SEO, video SEO, parasite SEO, and so on to rank the products branded terms online and capture organic traffic as well as branded keyword search traffic which is often low competition on Google/Bing compared to the more broader terms.
Strong copy and clear call to actions: If they have a written sales page you’ll likely find that it’s very convincing and keeps pulling you in to read more. They’re often story-driven as well. The buy now button will be unmissable and the whole page will be directing your attention to it to complete the purchase. It leaves no doubt in the visitor’s mind on what should be done next.
–>It requires less in terms of infrastructure. The truth is that setting up big program offerings like I run in my business takes tools, time and people. Launches don’t happen overnight :). But to be a private coach you only need a few things, like a simple website or LinkedIn page for your business, a way to take payment like check or Paypal, and a simple scheduling tool like Candidly or ScheduleOnce. These can be fairly easy and inexpensive to set up, and should cost you very little out of pocket.
That said, there’s nothing wrong with private sessions. While some people feel more comfortable in a shared experience with “classmates,” others feel pressured by the presence of others. While small groups of 4 to 6 do ensure that everyone can get individualized attention, some will pay to have their program tailored specifically to them. Decide how you can do your best work as a coach, and choose (and charge) accordingly.
–>There’s a lot of flexibility in group coaching. I only offer programs at certain times of the year. What’s nice about that is that I can take downtime in between and not be beholden to clients, and I can also deliver the programs from anywhere, as long as I keep timezones in mind when I plan my travels :). Tools like Facebook have made group coaching communities instantly accessible at any time, so I can have folks all over the world participate in my group programs and get feedback when they need it.

A lot of people will recommend selecting a niche/category you’re familiar with right off the bat and browsing products inside it. Although I agree with this approach for strong reasons I’ll outline later, I do not think it should be the starting point. Simply go ahead and hit the “magnifying glass” button next to the search bar without typing anything.
Create a killer course experience: With your course validated and in the works, you need to figure out how people will take it. Most course creators choose to host their courses from their own websites. This way, they get all the value of bringing customers back to their site on a regular basis. I host my own courses from a subdomain on my own site so I can easily add more. The course experience is incredibly important as well. And after trying most of the solutions, I highly recommend Teachable—an online platform designed specifically for courses.
When I first wanted to become a coach, I offered myself to people for free. I just wanted to gain experience and get a few testimonials to help build my business. After I became more confident with the coaching process, I began charging a bit of money for my time. At first, it was around $40/hour. As I gained more experience, helped people get more results and became in even more demand, I was able to raise the rates to over $100/hour and beyond.
Budget out all your expenses including office rent, travel, phone service, subscriptions & memberships, office supplies & equipment, advertising, and services. It helps to look through your business credit card statements over the last year to see everything you’ve spent money on for the business. Add all your expenses to the amount you want to take home and that is how much money you want to make.
Very high commissions: Most ClickBank products pay 70%+ commission. You read that right. So in that case, if you sell a $100 product, you earn $70. You might think that’s way too high to be real, but it is. They’re mainly able to do that because most of their products are digital, which means there are no “production” costs, “shipping” costs or any other costs that are usually associated with physical products, hence the high commissions.
–>Sometimes it can be easier to sell someone else’s stuff instead of your own. Sales is a skill, so a way to sharpen your skill set in the beginning can be to try and market and sell for someone else. It feels less personal and scary because you don’t have to sell you, and affiliate or partners will often have tips and tricks to help you learn how to sell their stuff.
I began with the few things identified here but in the time since have added my own 48 Days content through traditional books, ebooks. online courses, membership sites, and a Mastermind. Knowing I had a core message to share (Release dreams into purposeful, and profitable work…in 48 days) has allowed me to add multiple ways for people to experience that message.
