To succeed in this business means becoming a continual student, but it doesn’t mean you have to buy everything that comes down the pike. With my coaching clients, I’m constantly telling them NOT to buy specific new products they ask me about UNLESS they’re about a subject they’re currently working on. I always have a stack of books on my shelf that will be read, but I’m also often putting the stops on any new information purchases until I get through the ones I have.
I've also personally hired and worked with so many coaches in my own life and received so much value from them. I know I wouldn't have the success that I enjoy today if I tried to do things on my own and didn't make those investments in my self. I continue to find coaches and mentors that I can learn from, in all areas of my life. It's the fastest and easiest way to get to where you want to go. Just find someone that's done it and do exactly what they say. It's pretty simple.
I believe coaching and consulting can be an excellent way to make money online, but only if you have the system set up right. It has to be worth your time and I only would recommend it as a secondary source of income. I continue to offer coaching and consulting on my website simply because there's a big enough demand and market for it. I also enjoy it immensely too.
29. Videos – This could be an entire section on it’s own. Many people have made money by creating YouTube videos. Evan of EvanTube is a kid and he has made millions by creating reviews of products that other kids his age would use. It’s not easy to get views into the millions, but once you do, you’ll start seeing some cash come in. Many bloggers have completely turned to videos to get their point across by starting a video blog.
For most kinds of coaching, Google Hangouts or Skype should be able to meet your needs. Both are free, both work well with a good internet connection, and both allow you to hold live video sessions with up to 10 total people at a time. Google Hangouts has the added bonus of automatically recording and saving your sessions for later reference, but the same can be done through Skype with some added software (For Mac users, we recommend Ecamm’s Call Recorder).
First, look at the products you already use. And remember, by promoting a product, you’re putting your own reputation on the line. Say your site, email campaign, or social media platform caters to new entrepreneurs – it’s a given that these entrepreneurs all need websites. Products related to webhosting or theme development are both great candidates and can be big earners, especially if you communicate your positive experiences. In comparison, trying to sell a weight-loss program on your business site would probably be a real turnoff for your audience, as it would be out of context.
You really only want to start offering coaching and consulting once the demand is there. The demand is there when you have a certain number of visitors coming to your blog per day or you have people contacting you asking for your help and advice. Once you have people contacting you and asking for your help, this is a good sign that they trust you and see you as an expert. They now WANT your help and advice. All you have to do now is put together a coaching page or website that makes yourself available to them as a coach.
–>There’s a lot of flexibility in group coaching. I only offer programs at certain times of the year. What’s nice about that is that I can take downtime in between and not be beholden to clients, and I can also deliver the programs from anywhere, as long as I keep timezones in mind when I plan my travels :). Tools like Facebook have made group coaching communities instantly accessible at any time, so I can have folks all over the world participate in my group programs and get feedback when they need it.
Like reselling web hosting and domain names, you can sell almost anything by collaborating with manufacturers that offer dropshipping, which involves shipping the product to customers on your behalf. In a dropshipping business, you collect the order on your website and then instruct the manufacturer to ship the product to your customer. The manufacturer gets paid its price and you keep the remainder.
The music industry might not be as strong as it was in the 80s, but there are still plenty of ways to make money online as a musician. Sites like SoundBetter let you sell your services as a songwriter, producer, or session musician to thousands of customers a month. While Musicbed, Music Vine, Marmoset, and SongFreedom are perfect for licensing your music to TV shows, movies, and web series.
If you have a fondness and talent for taking pictures you can make extra money online by becoming a stock photographer and selling your images to a stock photo company like ShutterStock or iStockPhoto. You’ll get royalties every time someone licenses an image you’ve submitted. To really be successful, build your own photography website to be able to showcase your portfolio and start getting higher-paid private corporate work.
Offering a limited amount of face-to-face consulting for local clients can allow you to boost your consulting package rates as well. It’s also going to be easier to rank for your best keywords on your blog if you are including local words like your city or state name. Wrapping your blog content around these local keywords will put you ahead of other consultants that don’t have the same focus.
